Welcome to Chicago! While it may seem familiar to the one you are used to - let me warn you now - things aren’t always as they seem. Here times changed a little differently. Urban Legends and Myths weren’t just stories told to scare children, in fact those are very real here. Here the real fear comes from the ones controlling everything from the shadows, and those working to bring them down. Careful who you trust in these streets, never know who they work for.

Kind and considerate, encountering a Faina in the wild could be considered a treat to some. To the odd stranger, she is respectful and polite as long as she is treated in the same regard. Although there are some exceptions, Faina is rare to judge on the grounds of what a person is, but rather who. She presents herself as kind and open with those around her and isn't shy to express her thoughts. If she believes you have a nice style going today, she will tell you. It goes to say, however, that although she can hold a friendly conversation, she does have her own opinions that may not align to these. It's not necessarily that she holds anything against the other, but rather that fact that she is, beneath the outer projection, a wary character. Just because she's telling you a story of her grandmother teaching her to cook doesn't mean that she considers you close. She greatly restricts the information about herself that she grants people, keeping everyone at arm's length. [break][break] Being an business owner, however, and an entrepreneur, means that she may have to be more stern and serious - and this is a role that she fills well enough. Having had the drive and motivation to start the café, she's maintained that into its upkeep. She follows a routine schedule to ensure that everything to keep the doors open are handled. With customers, she presents the full customer service personality - respect, understanding, patience, and of course, a smile. With her employees, she considers herself a casual boss as long as things are handled as they should be. She isn't hawking over them, trusting her employees to be able to do their job as they should and praising them when they go above her expectations. If something does go askew and she begins to bump heads with one, then it's time to have a conversation - which only naturally takes a much more serious tone. [break][break] Given enough time and patience, a true friend can be made of Faina. With them, she'll be more open on the topics related to her past and open up about any of her stresses in suitable situations. With the same deal, she will hold a strong loyalty to anyone who she considers that close. In times of need, she's more than willing to cover anything they may ask of her. There isn't a penny she would spare to ensure their well-being. [break][break] To those who wear both her kindness and patience and manage to find themselves in the negative for Faina's favor, she will intentionally avoid them. She's not one for conflict, preferring to remove herself from tense personal situations or ignore the cause. Given rational reasoning, she would ensure they are either not permitted within the premises of her business or she does not personally serve them as patrons.

[attr="class","sectheader"]BIOGRAPHY
Having begun her life with no name but some letters and a number, Faina’s earliest memories consist of a pristine facility in the middle of Russia where people in white coats would take care of the children inside. The adults followed through a daily routine of feeding and caring for the children - only to torment them hours later. By six, she was no stranger to needles and the pain that followed their injections, and the tests were run every other day. At ten, she’d her most severe reaction to these - though, it would appear that was enough. They’d reduced their research with her to blood tests, analysis, and outside time. In this time, she’d discover a draw to the nature around her. The grass swayed as she willed it, branches would twist at her command to give her ample shade. [break][break] Faina had her powers, and the white coats would let her practice these. Every other month, she’d get brought back for another test, and following she’d see an increase in her abilities' use and control. Yet, it was painful - and in her opinion, truly not worth it. At 13, she asked for her freedom, but they wouldn’t release her from the fenced confines of the facility. It was only when an external group had broken in that Faina would get to experience the world beyond. The group rescued a number of children held captive by the facility, and would take them back to their own base to begin to work towards ensuring a safe future for each of them. It was there that they were all properly named and designated a new home and life. “Faina Nikolaev” was set to go stay with her grandparents in Chicago, Illinois. [break][break] The plane ride was one full of anticipation, but when she landed, Faina was met with a very large relief that it didn’t take her long to find the couple amidst the crowd of people and the noises she didn’t recognize. The elderly couple took her in, taught her English, and raised her up like their own until she turned 18. They were then to move - relocating to retire from their time providing safehouses for experimental escapees. They would sell their home, but left Faina some spare funds and a two-story building that the man had owned on the east side to renovate. The second floor would become her home, and the first was turned into the White Clover Café - a business that served all who entered, while specifically garnering through word of mouth its reputation as a safe-place for the supernatural in the city, offering a restricted lounge to those who knew the key phrase.
