[attr="class","av_postcontent"]It wasn't the sunniest day. Heavy rain pelted against the streets of Chicago, the odd car driving by. It wasn't a popular street this time of day with this weather, the odd character walking through the storm at the mercy of the clouds. By no means, however, did that fact make it completely deserted.

Brown boots sent ripples through the sidewalk puddles as Faina stepped. It was her off day from the White Clover. She'd left its operations in responsible hands and simply wanted the day to relax. Living right above it, however, made that difficult. She'd wanted a comfortable day away from there - so more times than not, she'd take these days to roam the city, go shopping, or just treat herself.

Today was a roam-the-city day. She had no goal, no aim, but rather the will to be outside. Sure, she had some groceries she could pick up, but that would be towards the end of her trip. Despite the weather, she didn't want to rush home. After all, the umbrella in her right hand had to serve a purpose every now and then. Faina ran her free hand over a bush as she passed by it, brushing the leaves. It felt content - the rain was welcome. She gave a small smile, nodded, and continued her way. She’d slow when she reached a crosswalk, stopping to wait for the light to turn. She nodded a small greeting to the stranger across the street from her, hoping to avoid an awkward staring contest as they each awaited the light.

She would wait for it to turn, catching the bell jingle over the door of the corner shop beside her before she began to move again. The little white man on the sign signaled her safety to cross. And so, she walked with confidence, offering a polite "Good day" to the stranger as she would pass.
